PR frames the role as 'art imitating life,' positioning Yoshi Rinrada as a trailblazer who authentically channels her real-world influencer status into a groundbreaking horror performance.

Insiders suggest the 'pile-on' plotline is a thinly veiled commentary on the very real cancel culture that threatens social media stars, making the ghostly revenge angle particularly potent for fans watching her career evolve.

Autumn Sun Films confirmed world sales rights. The film opens in Macau at Studio City on Oct. 31, with Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei following in November. Empire Entertainment acquired Pakistan and GCC rights.

Yoshi Rinrada is leveraging her digital fame into a serious cinematic career, proving that influencer-to-actor transitions can actually work when the material is this sharp.

Yoshi Rinrada is making a definitive shift from social media star to serious film talent, with her Thai horror feature "Rinrada: The Influencer" securing significant distribution deals across Asia and the Middle East. The film, which marks Rinrada’s first leading role in the horror genre, is set to make its North American debut at the prestigious Screamfest. This strategic rollout highlights how international markets are increasingly betting on creators who blur the lines between their public personas and their on-screen performances.

The narrative centers on an influencer whose life is dismantled by a vicious online pile-on, forcing her to return as a ghost with limited time to exact revenge. It’s a premise that feels uncomfortably close to home for Rinrada, who boasts millions of followers in the real world. Autumn Sun Films, the Hong Kong-based distributor handling world sales, emphasized this authenticity in their promotional materials.

Elliott Tong of Autumn Sun Films stated, "Our star, Yoshi Rinrada, is a true trailblazer in Thai entertainment with millions of followers of her own. Playing an influencer in her first leading horror role, she brings so much of herself to the part that it’s truly art imitating life." Behind the camera, the project is helmed by Artistaya Arriyawongsa, the in-house director at producer Tham Studio19. Arriyawongsa, who also co-wrote the script, has a proven track record in the genre, having directed the 2024 horror hit "The Elite of Devils" and the 2020 film "Waning Moon." He describes the film as using supernatural elements to probe the mechanics of online cruelty and public shaming.

"Sometimes the monsters we fear are the ones we create ourselves," Arriyawongsa said, underscoring the film’s thematic depth beyond typical jump-scares. The distribution map is already expanding rapidly, with Macau getting the first theatrical release at Studio City on Halloween, October 31. Following this, the film is scheduled for November releases in Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei, where SB Productions is managing the rollout.

Additional territories have been secured, including Indonesia by PT Cahaya Sinema Nusantara, Taiwan by Moviecloud, and Pakistan and the GCC by Empire Entertainment. While dates for the Philippines and Myanmar are yet to be set, the deal structure was unveiled at the Busan International Film Festival’s Asian Contents & Film Market, signaling strong regional confidence in Rinrada’s new cinematic direction.
